Day 12

Today we had planned on staying in Regina and well you guest it, it was shite. We had a great meal last night and a few drinks and really relaxed which was nice but the city is another boring dull place, we did drive around and chose not to stay. It really is getting a joke now how dreary things are here in this part of Canada, we have done more than 4,200km and unless your interested in museums or history there is not a lot to see apart from lakes and vast amounts of nothing. Never mind we did have a good place to go today and that was Moose Jaw, where in the days of prohibition Al Capon and his gang moved drink from Moose Jaw into the US and Chicago, anyway the town had some tunnels that held the secrets of this gangster crime spree and we thought it would be great to see it, the only problem was, that we was not allowed to use cameras, so no photos or videos. It was a 45 minute walk through the tunnels with a very loud and over the top crew of actors, OMG they were so cheesy there was about 10 people in our group and we all looked at each other and tried very hard not to laugh. It was fantastic me and Lorna could not believe just how over the top it was, its such a shame we cant share this with you. Afterwards we went to a museum that had all types of vehicles, old plane trains and you guessed it automobiles, it was good that we finally had something to do even Lorna seemed to enjoy it, the best was kept for last in a small town 70km north of the Trans Canada Hwy was a small town called Kyle where according to a information website was the last day of a real Rodeo. So we blasted up to Kyle only to find out it was actually held last week on the 7th & 8th August. We really could not believe it, the whole trip has been a stream of disappointments and this was the last straw. I even started to doubt the information I got this morning but after we got to our hotel for the night we checked the internet again and sure enough it was there like I thought 13-15th August, so I wrote a stinking email to the website. We are staying in a Holiday Inn Express the same as last night, the really weird thing is that the hotel is identical to last night I mean literally identical, it was like Ground Hog Day. Especially when I cut my face shaving the same as last night. V Weird.

Update we have just got back from the Casino next to the hotel where we signed up for the players card and got a $5 each meal voucher and $10 each game play, so we had a meal with 3 drinks and won $15 on the slots so the whole meal with drinks cost us $15.
Does this mean that our luck has changed, time will tell.
